Since our formation over a decade ago we have helped more than 20,000 children, young people and their families by funding life enhancing and enriching activities and equipment.
We have purchased specialist equipment for children’s hospices, contributed towards specialist wheelchairs, paid for music therapy, purchased sensory equipment and supported many children with funding their Riding for the Disabled lessons.
More recently we have added Animal Assisted Activity (AAA) to the range of support we provide. By providing opportunities in this core area we are able to engage with more children, young people and their families, provide deeper levels of interaction and ensure there is a clear and lasting legacy from our work.
This animal driven work is an additional way for The Phoenix Children’s Foundation to provide support to children and young people living with illness, disability or lack of opportunity, and sits alongside our grant work, which is still very much a core focus for the charity. We consider many individual grant applications each year, reviewing each one on a case-by-case basis.
